Hello, I have an archtop that from researching the serial number off the headstock stamped (055065) tells me its from 1967, beyond that, there is no markings inside the f holes anywhere. So I am guessing, by is simple trimmings, that it is an L-50, or L-48? But honestly I dont have a clue. I am hoping there is a vast amount of knowledge here that can set me straight. The body dimensions are: 15 7/8" at bottom, 9" at hip, 11 7/8" at top, 20 tall, 3 3/8" deep. The fretboard is 17" (20 fret), overall the guitar is about 40 inch. tuners says Kluson dleuxe. I hope thepics work, its my first time trying. Thanks for any and all thoughts, really would love to know how it is you know if you could, would like to be able to determine myself eventually. Thank You. Sean

Great, well thanks to both of you, the serial number on the peg head told me it was made in 1967, based on the 055065. So its a 1967 L-48. Finally I know, have had this for 25 years now and never could get a straight answer from any music store owner. Any advice on where I can get a pickguard and its hardware that was original to the guitar?

You'd have to get pretty lucky to find an original pickguard, but check out Terrapin Guitars in Eugene, Oregon for having one made.
