gerardozu
I am going to buy a SUPREME . Whay you you think of it about sound quality, comparing with custom ? Thanks Gerard
lucy-guitar
Although not helpful in your case: I'd rather go for a Historic Reissue (R7, R8, R9, R0) than any Supreme!
Homz
I like everything about the Supreme except the pick ups. The Supreme has the 498t/490r pick ups. Since that is a main contributer to the sound I would always go with the Standard. Of coarse that sound may be to your taste.
FennRx
I am going to buy a SUPREME . Whay you you think of it about sound quality' date=' comparing with custom ?Thanks Gerard[/quote'] you ask about a supreme vs a Custom, but the poll is about a Supreme and what I am guessing is supposed to be a Standard. if it's a Supreme vs a Custom, I'll take the Custom any day of the week. The Supreme is too pretty for me, is chambered (not my preference) and has a goofy electronic setup. if it is between a Supreme and a USA Standard, things get more interesting there- as I am not particularly keen on either one of them. If it had to be a USA LP, I would skip to the Traditional. But if you have the cash for a Supreme, I would go directly into R7/R8/G0 territory. RichCI
I can't get past that giant, fancy inlay on the headstock. My LP happened to work out to be a Custom but with the same inlays.

KennyF
I had one of the original Supremes. I sold it, bought an R8 and never looked back.
Thundergod
Welcome to the forum, I think I would go for a reissue instead of a supreme. Some of the guys already gave you good reasons why. One other thing I dont like about that guitar: no access to the electronics in the back. If you want to do anything to it, you'll have to do it through the jackplate which is a pain in the butt. britabe
i have a buddy that bought a supreme and it was just too glossy and pretty for my taste and i too think the std. sound better. somehow i didnt like the feel of his guitar either. cant quite remember why....seemed tight, and not very fast
Silverbursted
I agree with Thunder; if there is ever a reason the electronics need attention, its just painful. And I would hate to mess up the finish, after all the only reason anyone would buy a Supreme (vice reissue) would be because they are so pretty. Col F
The Supreme may have the "looks", but there really are substantial reasons that so many of us prefer other pickups... like Burstbusters...
SRV-Zeppelin
+1 to what everyone has said so far... Supremes are nice, don't get me wrong, but- I'd go with a Standard or a Custom any day. Good luck!
rocketman
I am going to buy a SUPREME . Whay you you think of it about sound quality' date=' comparing with custom ?[/quote'] I agree with all responses. Although it's good to get everyone's opinion, in the end it depends on a number of factors, such as playing style, sound, versatility, etc. Have you played both? You might like the sound of a Supreme better.
Crabby
I've seen some very beautiful Supremes, but I'd rather have a Standard, Custom, or historic. I have a Custom and a G0, some Classics and some studios, and will probably get a Traditional or pre-'08 Standard or another historic next. Supremes are also harder to get at the guts for mods.
