Rollo Rodriguez
Can you guys help me complete this chart? I thought It might be helpful. Or are they all the same? I think it would be simpler if we only include "new" Les Pauls, meaning probably 2010, 2011 and 2012 models "Chambered" (Studio, ) "Weight Relieved" (Custom Pro, ) "Traditional Weight Relief" (Traditional, ) "Modern Weight Relief" (Standard, )
drew365
What's the difference between "Weight Relieved" and "Traditional Weight Relief"? I've only heard of one style of weight relief prior to the "Modern Weight Relief, which you have a photo of in your post. The previous version was also called "swiss cheesed". According to this article: http://www.gibson.com/en-us/lifestyle/productspotlight/gearandinstruments/chambering%20the%20les%20paul_%20a%20mar/ Hello! No, this is the "Modern Weight Relief", new for 2012. The nine-hole is the "Traditional Weight Relief" (aka "Swiss Cheese"). The "Chambering" is when the complete body is carved out, only the hardware mounting area left solid (see picture above, posted by Drew365 - on left). Cheers...
