ZWBLS
I have noticed on some of the pictures and videos i have watched recently that the bullseye doesn't look like it should. To me it looks like it is missing a black stripe up by the pick up selector. The reason I ask is because I recently ordered one from musicians friend and I really do not want to be disappointed when I open the case and it doesn't look right. I have wanted this guitar since its debut in the late 90's. here is what im talking about here is a link to one that seems to be missing a black stripe http://davesguitar.com/products/gibson-custom-shop/zakk-wylde-les-paul-custom/ and here is a link to what it should look like on gibson's website http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Les-Paul/Gibson-Custom/Zakk-Wylde-Les-Paul-Bullseye.aspx any info on this from the admins would be greatly appreciated!! ZWBLS
I just read that Gibson has altered the bullseye from Zakk's original custom to differentiate the model with the ebony and richlite fingerboards?!?! If there is any truth to this could Gibson customer service please confirm this or if this is not true please let me know what is.
GibSinCity
That sounds like it could be correct. This is from the "Features" button on the second link you posted: "The neck is topped with a 22-fret Richlite fingerboard with pearl block inlays, multi-ply black and white binding along the fingerboard, and Gibson’s classic rounded profile." Here's that page: http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Les-Paul/Gibson-Custom/Zakk-Wylde-Les-Paul-Bullseye/Features.aspx The first link shows an older Zakk model with ebony board in the picture and description. "Bullseye finish, Ebony Fingerboard, 9.4 pounds, With hardshell case..." http://davesguitar.com/products/gibson-custom-shop/zakk-wylde-les-paul-custom/

adamthompson
Can Gibson Admin shed light on this? I've seen both styles and the new bullseye is so noticeably different and thats in a bad way, if you buy a zakk LP Custom you want the same as what he plays not some modified version thats very different.
