Stupid Volume pot

Hi everyone,

I bought a 2012 Les Paul studio in June, and ever since I bought it the volume knob for the bridge pickup slips off if I turn the guitar face-down as the plastic seems to be threaded. This is a bit of a problem as I don't want to lose it, and it make it difficult to use the coil tap. Is there any easy way to fix the knob without destroying it, or does anyone know where I can get a replacement? (I live in the UK)

Thanks in advance, sorry if this is a bit of a silly question.

Hi I can surgest 2 options

#1 Buy a new from here - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/220750154674 (These are genuine ones)

#2 Use a small bit of blue tac under the hat to make the fit snugger and stick better

As most guitars have "split-shaft" pots, you can take a screwdriver (or needle nose pliers) and spread the top of the shaft slightly. Be careful, you CAN break off one side of the shaft very easily.

OR.....

As recommended above, you can also just wrap the top of the shaft with something to enlarge it. For this quick-fix, I generally use electrical tape or teflon tape.

I have to recommend against this because it is probably the knob and not the shaft. (To check, switch the knobs around) I have come across this before and if you expand the shaft you end up having one knob that can only go on one pot and if you want to replace a knob it becomes a problem. Bending the shaft back subsequently will probably result in breaking the shaft.

Just buy a replacement knob for a few quid or blue tack it on.
