installing EMG pickups in Les Paul Studio

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am looking at picking up a Les paul Studio Pro Plus soon. At the same time I want my local guitar shop to install a set of Zakk Wylde pickups.

I want to also install the control cavity plate with the battery hatch that you see on the Les Pauls with active pickups such as the aformentioned Zakk Wylde series, the Gothic Morte and the EMG equipped Epiphones.

Unfortunately I cannot locate this plate anywhere, even on the Gibson website. Any ideas as to where I could find this plate?

Many thanks,

P

Might cut a rectangle into the cover and put something like this in? There are vertical ones also if that would fit.

Another idea, silicon glue something like this into the inside of the cover (if it fits):

The repair guy should be able to handle this as part of installing the pickups I would think?

that should work. I went and did a search earlier for '9v battery hatch' and found them. I am just a bit disappointed that I can't get the cover from Gibson themselves. They have them on their guitars that use active pickups, why not sell the cover in their store?

probably because those covers are not Gibsons own product?

besides, if you want those covers/hatches for the battery in your guitar,

there's a STRONG possibility that you have to route a hole for it...
