nolongermike@gibson Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 If yes when? Same release time as the LP? Thanks Good question. Don't have an answer other than no, not the same time as the LP release if there is an SG style version. I suppose it could happen, never say never given that the Robot was built into the V, Explorer and SGs, but Dark Fire is more, much more, than just the next gen Robot. I would love to see it in an SG, but its a bit premature to be thinking of other models for it right now. Trust me, the Les Paul Dark Fire is amazing. I can't wait to own one.
MCK Posted December 2, 2008 Author Posted December 2, 2008 Sounds great! Thanks for your input. I agree, after seeing the internal cavities photo I think it will take some time to adapt SG body if at all. LP body is great too so I'll go for it. As luck would have it... I am traveling to the US (NJ) on business next week from where I live (Japan) and will be returning by 12th December. So I am missing the release by just 3 days. Any luck I can pre-order and get it under NDA etc? I would love to be the first person to own one in Japan and don't want to wait for the shops here to stock one. Cheers.
nolongermike@gibson Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Sorry, that's not possible to do. They have to be ordered through an authorized dealer. Your best bet it to contact one and ask to pre-order.

MCK Posted December 2, 2008 Author Posted December 2, 2008 Hmm, wish I could delay my trip! Oh well. Did as you suggest and found a few dealers ok to ship to Japan so I guess I'll go that route. Hope the packaging is good!!! On that note, does the dark fire come with a hard case? I don't think its possible to sell a guitar at this price range without a hard case but the website errata does not mention it so felt like asking. Anyone know?

Anyone know?[/quote'] It comes in a beautiful white hard case, lovely inside lining and cover, with a special box for the case and guitar. All Gibson-branded instruments ship with a gig-bag or case to my knowledge. Epiphones don't always come with a case, but a Gibson will nearly always come with a case or gig-bag.
MCK Posted December 3, 2008 Author Posted December 3, 2008 Sounds great Mike. I am looking forward to getting my hands on one.
