mve4158
I just received a Les Paul 70's Tribute as a gift. I am aware of the switch to the baked maple fingerboards. My question is, the edges of the fingerboard are not perfectly smooth, (but not rough) sort of like they have dimples in the wood. It meets smoothly with the neck, but the fingerboard edges themselves are not what I would expect from Gibson. Is this common with the baked maple or do I need to have the guitar exchanged? Thanks!!! I have a LP Classic Custom with the baked maple and it is as smooth as can be from one end to the other. I've played a SG Standard Limited at GC that also had the baked maple and it was just as smooth as my LP. I guess the question is does it bother you enough to exchange it? DiamondJig
It's probly not the baked maple, it's probly the fret ends, this is common on non binded necks, you can file them down
