Gibson must have found a great stash of Koa at one time based on some of the pics we've seen...I thought it would be great to gather them all in one place. Here is the back of my 2001 J-200 Koa.....Let's see some more!!!

This is my 2004 J-200 Elite, also in koa:

I asked them to do a 'light burst' on the back and sides, which they obligingly did.

The depth of that neck is insane! Would be nice to see the rest of the neck.

No it wasn't... there was a slight upcharge, but it ended up being much more reasonable than I thought it'd be. I ordered mine from Sweetwater.com since there's no dealers close to me. Talk to Dennis Konicki.

I've heard that ony native Hawaiians can harvest these Koa trees, and only when they die or are blown down......anyone know if this is true???

I don't know about that but I did hear, from a believable source, that there are "native" koa trees in Hawaiia and koa plantations in California. Anyone know about that?

That is just spectacular!

Thanks Rob! It's been a blast to play, and a lot of that has to be because of the compliments of even non-guitar players. I've found that most cameras can't do the Koa any justice, so they best way to really appreciate it is to buy one for yourself...

Thanks! No, I don't have a clip, but if I put one together I'll be sure and post it up.
