Welcome! It's customary to buy each existing member of the forum a Les Paul Custom upon joining, so be ready to take orders from every member. I'll take an R9. :D Yeah. Got pics of your LP?

Howdy.

Welcome.

Now, are you a Boston fan, or is that where you hail from?

Oh, yea. You'll get flack until you post some guitar pics, so ya might want to get started on that.

Of course I'm kidding. Welcome! How long have you been playing? Post some pics of your Les Paul. We're dying to see.

How should I put this.. I'm a younger player. I've been playing since august '07. And no I don't have a les paul. This feels like bragging, but.... I've been progressing pretty well. I've been working in the freebird solo, and I play in my local all-city jazz band. I got my interest in guitar from my cousins, mostly. My parents didn't play. I got really interested in Gibsons and then realized how far out of my price range they were. My first guitar was an epiphone 3/4 size hollow-body that we found in the attic. It must have belonged to the previous owners of the house. I didn't have an amp.

I finally(not that the epi was bad)got a solid-body Squier Strat for my birthday with a Fender 15G Solid-State amp. I played the thing so much i had calises(however you spell that word)within the next week. It killed but i was having so much fun i ignored it. me and my dad went to the store to pick out one of those faded sg specials(to save up for). I played an SG Standard first. My dad fell in love with it right away(he thought it was way overpriced when i showed him on line). I guess he just realized how much work went in to these babies when he saw that Cherry-Red finish and when he heard that special sound. You know? That Gibson sound..... Anyway, the guy at the counter told us that the faded sg special had been discontinued. The first thought in my head was, "Now What?". I played a faded 3-pickup sg special and my dad thought the thing was ugly. He wanted to get the Standard. I wasn't going to argue. =P~ We rounded the numbers, did the math in our heads and concluded that it would take me a long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long,LONG time to save up all of that money. By the time we got home we had come to an agreement that he would give me $5 an hour if i helped him around the yard. I would work for the first $1000 and he was nice enough to pay the rest. "The rest" was about another 6 or 7 hundred dollers. I don't know why he agreed to that . It didn't seem like a very good deal to me. :-k I guess I'm lucky to have a dad like that. O:) Anyway, my current main guitar is an '08 Gibson SG Standard, I'v Playing since august '07,and i'll post some pics of my SG soon. Thanks!

Welcome man, hope you like it here. So, are you a card carrying gibson owner or a gibson enthusiast? No matter, you'll have fun here.

If you are a guitar owner pics are a must.

I'll take a 08 Standard, w/EMG's 81/60 and instead of stock finish I'll take a Faded Rebel Flag layered on a black primer base coat. Oh and lots and lots of beer caps set in the finish. J/K Welcome to the forum. Oh and we're not kidding about pics, I got hounded till I got pics on here so the sooner on that, the better.
