janusromanus Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Hi from spain, first sorry for my english, it´s very poor... I´d like to buy a 345 from gibson, i see that this is a guitar from the custom shop, my gibson dealer told me a few days ago that the guitar comes without certificate of authenticity, i was surprised, the serial number also is the common 8 digits, the same that my Les Paul Standard has, I thought all the Custom Shop models came with COA like 339 for example... Thanks in advance. Alex
leopold Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 I'm not sure if it is accurate but some of the ES models from the CS are listed as having the COA, case & kit. http://www.gibsoncustom.com/flash/products/es/335Dot/59ES335Dot.html Others only have the case. http://www.gibsoncustom.com/flash/products/es/345/345.html
janusromanus Posted December 9, 2008 Author Posted December 9, 2008 Yeah, I saw it, I don´t understand why gibson do that... thanks for the reply. Alex
rossington88 Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 Some guitars are classified as Custom for reasons I don't know. The ES-335 is classified as a Custom Shop guitar on the site, however it is a USA model. The ES-345 is a USA model with a varitone if I am not mistaken, it may be Custom as I have seen custom cases with these models. The reason I say it could be USA is because, when I was at the USA factory in Memphis, the ES-345 was IN STOCK there. So it is plausable that it is a USA. Hope this helps.
guitarbob123 Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 some of the es models at the memphis factory i believe are made into custom shop models they also produce the white les paul customs there (thats what the tour guide said)
