RS1976
in the words of Les Claypool.... "never did win a checkerd flag, but he never did come in last..." I pulled off a run of 5 miles today at a pace of about 10 minutes a mile. Not great... but not bad for a 35 year old with crappy shoes!!!!!! Happy Thanksgiving ya'll!!!! You're about my age and live in the coolest city of Texas?! Man, we should make friends. I'm stuck in Houston at the moment but will move to Austin as soon as I complete my studies. We don't run in Houston, we're too fat for that. We have walks, instead.
RS1976
hi izzy yeah! austin IS pretty cool. some pockets of it are anyways. love town lake, and we have guitars imbedded into landmarks and a statue of Willie Nelson. Its a pretty cool place! if you don't mind the fr!ckn condos everywhere! Never spent much time in HOuston. Played a few gigs out that way... but not in a while. milod
Heck, I was only in Austin to shoot people. Well, with the camera, of course. Did a mag cover there with the neat bronzes on the capitol grounds. Long time ago, though... Did discover there were some decent saloons and nobody gave me funny looks for my hat and boots. Little sis and her kids are down around Corpus; eldest niece, though, is in the DFW area. And she's older than Izzy by around 10 years. <grin> Don't time go fast when we're havin' fun? Too hot in the summer for me, and not cold enough in the winter to kill the bugs. m
rocketman
I used to do it but my back can't handle running anymore. The Buffalo Turkey Trot is actually the oldest continually running public footrace in the US. It started in 1896 with six runners.
