For Lefties

Trouble in Australia

Recommended Posts

I'm a lefty who has played since the mid 80's so I just want to hear back from fellow lefties if there are indeed any here about the crap guitars we've been forced to play when starting out and the limited choices we are left with even now. Sure I now own a Les Paul Standard 2001 but I also want to own a left-handed Flying-V. It isn't a hard ask surely?!

Imagine what it was like 50 years ago. Even poor old Hendrix had to turn a r/h upside down.

Like all lefties you suffer the "10 to 1" marketing death.

However, you have my sympathies. My son is a leftie and at least when he started playing guitar (shifting from keyboards) in the early nineties, left hookers were around in sufficient numbers. But it does seem that it is mostly the major designs that get the lefty treatment and all else falls by the wayside or has to be special ordered at great expense.

There's a lot more choice for us lefty gifted guitarists than there used to be that's for sure. Not sure why you feel that hard done by, you have Gaskell guitars in Oz, all they produce is lefty guitars!
