Sadly, they have changed the venerable '67 reissue with what is now known as the '68. While the specs are substantially the same as the '67 one notable change is the alpine Vs now have rosewood boards instead of the ebony they have sported for decades. Granted the white Vs of '75-82 also had rosewood boards, but the headstocks were painted white to match and nothing is uglier IMO than Black, white, and brown together.

 

JMHO, but you can still get alpine (with rosewood) today, and hopefully with ebony or even richlite in the future.
