ol fred
New bone saddle, still a bit low for my taste but a definite improvement. No buzz but I think I should raise it another 64th or so. Vaca Dan said that it looked like a cannon, now it sounds like one. Pretty damn sweet actually. Pics to follow. BTW if you click on any of my pics it will take you to my Flickr acct and you can see the pic in it's original (VERY LARGE) FORMAT. Once you get to Flickr click on the pic again, the same pic will open with a black backround. In the upper right corner "view all sizes, next screen choose original. You can actually make out the windings on the strings. Stay Tuned Fred
Dotneck
Sovereigns are cool...I'm a fan of some of the old Kays & Harmonys...
drathbun
Hey Fred! Nice photos. I notice you have those orange tubing guitar stands. Don't let your nitro finish guitars near those! Wrap the orange with cloth or felt or something. That orange tubing melts nitro finishes!
zombywoof
Sovereigns are cool...I'm a fan of some of the old Kays & Harmonys... Sovereigns are definitely cool. I am pretty sure that this version of the Sovereign H1260 was made in Korea after Harmony sold the company name off. These instruments bear little resemblance to the US-made guitars. The pin bridge is one clue (the Chicago-made 1260 had a pinless bridge). But the surest way of knowing is if it says "est 1892" or "since 1892" on the headstock. Hard to tell from the photo but it does appear to be there. This was never seen on a made-in-the-U.S. Harmony. .

We'll see what happens when I start planing the braces
zombywoof
Fred, you are a man after my own heart. I am anxious to hear what the old girl has in her after you have finished. But watch out. Breathing life into these guitars can be highly addictive. By the way, don't worry about the finish. If I recall those guitars have a pretty heavy coat of poly. The finish is pretty dinged, doesn't really show unless you go to the original pic. Sad part is you are not likely to hear it unless you come to SANSJAM next year, like I said, I just can't figure out how to record to my eight track. Just can't seem to justify the expenditure for recording at this age.
