BluesKing777
Tech help needed. When I try to watch a video on the forum with my trusty iPad, the video will start and then keep stopping until I give up. I have moved to my Mac Laptop now to see if the videos stop on here as well, but of course the Mac says it is missing a plugin for all vids! So with the videos stopping on the iPad, would that be a modem or broadband issue? The storage on the iPad has 13GB free. Anyone else have the problem? BluesKing777. Gruffchris
Hey, Have you tried the basic stuff, like a speed checker site(broadband choices) or re-seting your router? when you say a video on the forum, are you streaming fine from other places? i.e youtube(most vid's are youtube vids). Anyway, I'd rest my router(un plug for 1 min), then try the videos, if there's still a problem with them then check your speed.
Rabs
Yeah try a router reset.. is most often the way to fix some of these issues... Could be some kind of weird IP conflict going on.
duluthdan
I think there is a sparrow sitting on the wrong phone line somewhere in West T-Shirt Kansas. I still think its amazing any of this stuff works. Can't wrap my brain around the global reach and connectedness. What's a speed checker site? All I can think of is highway patrol. BluesKing777
Thanks for that. I reset the router often - will do again once I log off work. I did a speed test - but the figures mean nothing to me - may as well be Albanian. Ping Speed: 64ms Download Speed: 1.55mbps Upload Speed: 63mbps How do these compare to others? My work stuff over internet seems normal - never real quick. BluesKing777.
Run
This is a Gibson forum, but if it may help. Here are my test results to compare: Download 7.85 Mb/s----Upload 0.90Mb/s---Ping 25ms .... server at 200 miles. But even with these I need stability. If yes, I can read HD videos 1080p without any interruption...if not I can't even at 720p or 480p. That's what happened last weekend, and after many tests with a tech my equipment wasn't in fault...It was my ISP ...a faulty connection along the route god knows where !! Now everything is back to normal without knowing what was wrong. Try this site: http://www.pingtest.net/ to test your connection stability and other things.
