kidblast
So it's that time of year I guess. this lesson from Steve is great, and there's a full tab to back it up.. I've been putzing around with this tune for years, -- I think Steve's version is the coolest of the cool http://www2.gibson.com/Lessons/Skills-House/Songs/2011/The-Christmas-Song.aspx

They say that studio musicians are frequently the most competent instrumentalists of all, and Steve is a great example of that. I've been grinding my way through his "Learn and Master Guitar" series for the last two years, and have just started his brand new "Learn and Master Fingerpicking" series. merseybeat1963
Images of New York City in this countrys prime spring up in my mind hearing that song, with those royal chords, on that guitar.
kidblast
Boys-n-girls, Take a few hours and go through Steve's lesson to this as a finger style arrangement. http://www2.gibson.com/Lessons/Skills-House/Songs/2011/The-Christmas-Song.aspx While it is probably considered an advanced lesson, for many of us here who can play well, you will find it's easy to do, and many of you will definitely learn a few new very cool chord voiceings, (and do the F scale Steve throws in there for the second verse, it fits nicely and adds a very cool "jazz" flair) Steve walks you thru all the details, so for advanced players, there's a lot of stuff he goes over that you'll already know, but if you want to do a nice version of this tune, worth the time. It should only take a few days of study to nail it. Also you can take a screen cap tool like Snag it, and grab the tabs and keep them for future reference. (cuz there's no way to print them I can see.) Happy Christmas! /KB (Ray)
