BIGBENDS
The Jonas Bros? They played for halftime on Thanksgiving Day at Texas Stadium. They're posers. The "guitarist" may as well have been holding an air guitar because he sure as he)( wasn't playing that LP Custom. Gibson sure is promoting them all the way. Why, you ask? It's a mystery. Probably because they're based in Hollywood or thereabouts.
Thundergod
I've heard of them (mostly through the Gibson forums) but I've never heard their music. What causes the rage from people? Same here... but I think I know how their music goes... (exactly like january 1987s flavor of the year and april 2006 flavor of the month, and probably like june 4093 flavor of the hour). retrosurfer1959
Never really heard them till recently and didn't know what to think teen posers but popular as hell. Sure not the Beatle's or even the Monkee's I would guess that someday soon there going to be the lower left corner on Hollywood Squares, or playing a comeback tour at Disneyland but I don't blame them for riding the fame horse while they can. Silverbursted
Caught them during half time on T-Day, and saw them in a movie once. From what I understand, they are not Gibson sponsored commodity but rather a corporate incarnation of Disney. Give some clean cut All American teenage heart throbs a couple of thousand dollars worth of gear, write some songs for them and some big bucks on advertising then just sit back and rake in the dough. It's the American way!!! I think the quality gear is supposed to lend some credibility as to being real musicians. After all $4,000 is a drop in the bucket when you are making tens of thousands of dollars off of these kids daily.

Ian Martin
They're great for Disney music and pre-teen stuff. Little kids eat it up, it usually has a positive message, and can inspire some kids. Do I think they should be allowed in the industry in the same place as legitimate music? HELL NO! Whatever your personal opinion of them is, the second they (and every other Disney star) left the Disney channel and Disney radio there was a problem. Granted, most music on Top 40 is utter garbage...but to see them nominated alongside real musicians at the Grammys is BS. Why does Gibson endorse them? You're seriously asking that question? It's a no-brainer. The JB are the biggest "band" in the world, and to be the company that supplies them with guitars is BIG marketing for CHEAP (just the actual cost of free guitars). Obviously, there aren't going to be a bunch of people who seriously want to play guitar (and can afford Gibsons) who are going to look at the JB and think "damn, I want the axe Kevin is playing!" but it does get the brand name in people's conscious. It's the same reason Gibson is affiliated with the Guitar Hero franchise. Additionally, the JB do seem to play the flashier Gibson models (LP Customs, Supremes, SG GTs, etc). I don't know if they choose what they want to play or Gibson just sends it all to them, but this move may be intentional as to say "hey, we don't just offer the same two boring models like we used to."
