aerohead
Has anyone tried the Fender Acoustasonic amps? I am looking for an acoustic amp to run my acoustics thru as well as a mic and would like some advice. Thanks Luke
duluthdan
I have an Acoustisonic SFX II, about 10 years old now. Nice Amp - 2 channels, handles 1 guitar and one microphone pretty well - actually quite nice for the guitar. Modest effects - reverb, delay, chorus. Its heavy. I put wheels on the bottom of mine, and dragged it to a church band I used to play in, every Sunday. Pretty rugged little beast - recently had the reverb on/off switch worked on. So far, so good. Motherofpearl
I went trying amps not long ago acoustisonic was on my list great amp for the money. Here $500. The Roland amps ac 60-90 were great also. I tried the acoustisonic 150 not the junior though
duluthdan
Had the Junior - swapped up. Didn't quite have the horsepower to be heard in the mix with drums, a Fender Twin Reverb, a bass, Roland Piano and 8 miked singers. Was a nice manageable 30 watts with 2 channels. Run
Fender Acoustasonic is a good amp but I've found better according to my taste...here a copy of an earlier post: Hi, after trying a Fender Acoustasonic 30 and a Roland AC 60 I ended up with a Traynor AM150T for live situations. They're now offering an update model. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ByePwd-UTTU http://www.traynoramps.com/
modoc_333
I think the current offerings from Fishman KILL the other options. Those things sound great!

HaHa....Had to chuckle when you listed the Twin Reverb as competing amps. There is not much that will cut through those if the the 'driver is aggressive'..... I have two Twins and a Super(reverb)! Of course, the player does not have to turn them loud. What a lush sound to my ears[thumbup] Of course all of my guitars are acoustic or equipped with magnetic pickups. I have none with the transducer/piezzo type pickups. That is where the Acoustisonic type amps excell ....plus the mic input!
aerohead
Thanks for the opinions guys I really appreciate it but I tested out a Bose L1 with tonematch yesterday and even though the price is painful I'm thinking even if it takes me the better part of 2 years to save for it that it will probably be the last p.a./amp I will ever need so the money will be well spent. The sound of that thing was just incedible! Any opinions on it from anyone with experience using one of these will be nice to hear. Thanks once again guys. retrorod
I know some local musicians that have bought the Bose system.....and are very pleased! I would concur that they are solid and worth the bucks as far as I have heard[thumbup]
