SC_Wannabe
Both of these showed up recently on my local craigslist, but unfortunately I can only afford one. Please help me decide... E-minor7
I say as I always say : You have to take a weekend out and think/breathe deep. Of course getting both would be the best and most satisfying. Nothing like switching back'n'forth between 2 darlings.
SC_Wannabe
Yeah, you're right. I probably shouldn't get in too much of a rush over this. Looks like this is some sort of shop running ads on cl, so I need to go there and play 'em both for an afternoon or two. They say the vintage Gibby is strung with classical strings but would sound good with any strings. Do you think I should ask them to throw a set of EJ17's on it, since that's what I normally play on my J50?

To give the guitars fair play, they must be A/B'd with equal sets – I suggest extra light 10's. Then you have to be aware of the nut widths – the Birdy seems narrower. SC_Wannabe
Yeah, it was just a joke.... but after looking around on the internet I guess that vintage one is actually a Gibson classical from the 60's so maybe the joke's on me. That bit about it sounding good with any stings though...
MissouriPicker
Yeah, watch those steel strings on a classical. The top/bridge might not like them........It would be kind of nice owning an old Gibby classical.
zombywoof
That first one look like one of those Global brand guitars you could get through Monkey Wards in the 1970s.
TM
I was in Lincoln, Illinois last Friday night picking up a 65 Country Western, sorry I could have grabbed these up from Uncle Buck if I had known.
