Rabs
Yeah, Jeff is amazing.. I went to see him a few years ago playing with Eric Clapton.. When I went I was more of a Clapton fan, when I left I was more of a Beck fan :) The thing is that I wouldnt still listen to his CDs too much as theres a lot of instrumental stuff which isnt my fave type of music.. BUT seeing him live I got a whole new appreciation for him and what he does.. Hes a great great guitarist and he does his own thing.. You gotta respect that. Heres some footage I took, one with Joss Stone doing I Put A Spell on You. AMAZING :) And one where he even sings. This is my most popular video on my channel with almost 50,000 views And Jeff having a laugh
Rocky4
Thanks for posting. I can't get enough footage of great guitarists in honest performances.
kaleb
I wonder what he and Frank Zappa could've done together? Odd music works great with Jeff's style of playing. It's not too late. There's still a couple other weirdos out there: Dweezil and Steve Vai. On the more conventional side, a collaboration between him, Satriani, Steve Morse, and Eric Johnson would be awesome. jdgm
I saw that band! Live at London Roundhouse, about the same time! Incredibly loud...but Jeff didn't ever seem to be entirely happy with a lead vocalist in his band (going right back to Rod), and eventually followed the instrumental path which I personally really dig. Incidentally, if you ever wondered what a duet between Jeff Beck and Joe Zawinul might sound like, check track 5 of the recent Tribal Tech CD 'X'; Scott Henderson and Scott Kinsey - it's uncanny. I just downloaded this album and listened to the track you mentioned. Jeff is, as always, immediately recognizable. I do believe he could ply in just about any environent and bring something unique to it. He is my favorite electric player and never ceases to amaze. Thanks for the tip on this record. I dig Scott Henderson.
Guest EastEnder
No one appreciates Jeff more than I, but one day he's going to do that dropping-to-his-knees thing at the end of Nessun Dorma and not be able to get up. Nigel Tufnel can attest...
T Bone
Watched this film yesterday. Not sure if I'd seen it before or not, but either way, thanks for posting it. Great stuff, the man is a legend for a reason!
