It seems better there than it used to be.

Its an alright forum, its too big and the way they ban people is pretty odd. Though if you required info on Les Pauls and building them, no better place to go.

Some excellent info over there, the personalities of a lot of members keeps me from visiting often. I've heard they've cleaned out a few of the bad ones though so maybe I'll check it out some more.

Its funny you say that. I actually used to not like it there much and not go there much but it seems they have been weeding out and banning the trouble makers and trolls and I have been noticing a difference for the better.

I don't post much there but never had a problem, then again I have never participated in the Backstage area.

Lots of knowledge, sometimes too much of it but that's why I go there.

When it comes to the Historic section sometimes I feel I don't belong there because my R8 does not have boutique pickups [tongue]

Someone called it my little pony once. [lol]

In all seriousness, I've never spent much time over there. Too busy to be on another message board.

I have gone on there a few times.....mostly for info! I have bought a couple of LP's over a couple of years. Like I am prone to do....I seek out a 'specialty forum' to find out as much as I can about my recent purchase......LOTS of good info on there!

I won't say that I 'socialise' there though. Mostly, used the Norlin and vintage sections.

Yes I am a member, but try and lay low lest the MOB come after me.

Who is the MOB?

Or is it better not to ask?

I'm not on it, but I view some of its threads a lot. Some great info, and some of em' have really nice Pauls.

Plus, there's a shitload of Ace Frehley fans there.

Go on over there and post a thread in the Backstage about anything and see what happens.

Better yet... find a thread where someone has asked for help, help them, and watch the dumbasses come out of the woodwork to assail you with their dumbassedry. It is an amazing dynamic, hence my preference for select areas.

to be honest, when I bought my first LP I cam here looking for information and got some attitude from a couple (not all) posters like I had no business asking questions about the guitar tat I payed my money for.....

I went over there and got some help right off the bat from some of those guys that were very patient with a newbie's questions.....so much so, that I just bought my 2nd LP from one of those members.

I still look at both places almost daily but must say, my first experience left somewhat of a a bad taste.

My apologies on behalf of the folks here, sir.
