Tim Plains Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 All Gibsons are made in the US. I'd take a Gibson over an Epiphone anyday (Sorry Epi players), but money doesn't come easy when you're only 13. You should see if the seller of that Gibson will send you pictures of the headstock, front and back. Then post them here.
SRV-Zeppelin Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Keep trucking and save up for a real Gibson, in the mean time if your guitar is busted start playing acoustic. It will really expand your horizons and versatility as a guitarist. And once you finally do get a Gibson, you'll be glad you waited for it (except for R9, he can't wait more than two weeks.). I waited almost a year for my LP standard (see avatar) and I'm glad I did... it's awesome!
guitar_randy Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Gibson definately before epiphone if you can afford it.The epi310 is probably worse than your g400
Guest alanhindle Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 A read of this article may help you decide what you want to do. http://www.everythingsg.com/articles/mahoganyrush.htm The photos of the special are very fuzzy but it appears to look genuine, despite the lack of a headstock photo. As R9 implies, don't buy used online without very good photos that can be checked out by someone in the know. PS. I'm very pleased with my Gibson SG faded.
