most enjoyable old chap! great work on that old classic...that last chord has had a workout recently..i think i used it too..your jazzhat is a bit ostentatious though

Mighty kind, FB. It's the chord for ending minor jazz tunes. Though I think Josh White used something else at the end of his version of this one. As for the jazzhat, well, if the cap fits...

Pretty cool song. You do it justice. What guitar are you playing? It sounds pretty bluesy.

Thanks Larry. Hard to mess it up totally (easy to fluff certain lines though, as here). The guitar is my Woody Guthrie SJ. With ancient strings on it. Rumour has it that they were stolen from Charlie Patton's grave.

Hark at the jazzman giving it some socks. Nice one mojo, quite a jaunty bugger, some cool chords too.

It'll have to be this.....

Ta, PM. It is indeed the thumb that makes it jaunty. There are two versions by Josh White (I pinched the lyrical variation from one of them). Both sound great, but the later one (probably from his Swedish TV performance in 1967) really swings, because he has a double-bass player with him. I was trying to get something of the double bass in along with the fingers.

Excellent choice of tune there Mo...and nifty rendition

I hope to start learning how to play some jazz at some point.... Han's would be proud [thumbup]

Thanks Del. I had to look up the reference, as I'm even further down river from Vienna than Budapest. Mr Theessink hasn't made it down here just yet. I rather like his version now that I've heard it, though. Thanks for the tip.
