Motherofpearl
This is a 1950 j45 that someone had the sunburst removed god only knows why. The FON is 4411. I have the original bridge but it was removed and a new one put on not sure why either. Anyway let me know what you think or if you have info great. The guitar sounds like a piano btw and I got it for a bargain. No cracks or anything wrong structurally. I need to raise the saddle or replace it because his preferences differ from mine. zombywoof
Very Nice! Ya gotta love a good player instrument. Looks like the original tuners are also missing. That guitar should have the enclosed Kluson strip tuners.
Motherofpearl
So I've heard lol. Yes it's a player that sounds great and needs a saddle I'm impressed with the tone so I'm happy.
ParlourMan
Looks a wee bit dirty but in great shape, congrats, glad to hear it's like a piano rather than 'old wood' too. Hope you get many happy years from it.

zombywoof
I have always thought of 1950 as the beginning of Gibson's modern era. The factory was expanded and re-tooled and the work force re-organized. Parts and the build process became far more consistent and quality went through the roof. Just the feel of the neck alone tells you that you are holding something different from what came before. Just amazing guitars all the way around. BluesKing777
I love it! If they stripped the finish to hide the big scratch behind the bridge, it sure didn't work. BluesKing777.

This is a players dream though I wish the sunburst was not removed but then the price tag may have been a lot more so what do ya do.
