bonzoboy
Well it's that time of year again when families get together and celebrate the most important and beloved of religious holidays.Sadly while many of us are celebratimg with family and friends many people will be spending the Christmas season keeping vigil over a loved one in an intensive care unit or funeral home all because someone decided to get in their vehicle and drive drunk-Please make sure that you're not the one responsible for ruining a family's Christmas and all their future Christmases.Don't drive after drinking and make sure not to let anyone else do so even if it means punching them out-stop them at all costs. Have a Safe and Happy Christmas All!!! BTW: My daughter had her Christmas ruined last year when one of her best friends was doing the smart thing and walking home after having a few drinks,he and his girlfriend were mowed down by a drunk driver and left lying in the road for almost an hour-despite several cars driving by and seeing them and not stopping-even though the road was covered with blood. He died a couple of days before Christmas and she will be disabled for life. This fool has ruined all future Christmases for my daughter and his victim's families, all because after spending a pile of money on booze, was too cheap to spend 10 bucks on a cab. Izzy
I gave up drinking ages ago. Drove trunk more times than I can remember and was blessed. I never got a ticket or in an accident of any sort. Young and stupid, I was. Now I am always up for being designated driver if someone needs me to be. Harsher punishments for drunk drivers are needed. Should get the car towed and held for a month. People drive without a lisence all the time, so that's hardly enough, I think. EVOL!
On top of that I would lobby for more resources for people to get home if they've had too much too drink. Here in Chicago it is not an issue because we have public transit and cabs. In my home town in Michigan? You're on your own.

If I had to pay a cab each time I'd think twice before getting trashed. Public transport is a joke in Houston, but cabs are always available. Bars should have an, "overnight parking okay, no tow if you got a cab" policy so drunks can go in the next day to pick up their cars.
RaysEpiphone
You know, I often ask my friends if they need a ride home but they always say no, I too am clean and sober (since 2007) so it's more about people who want to do the right thing. Unfortunately when your under the influence you don't think very hard about right or wrong.

Murph
Yep. Sober for 3 years in a month or so, but I drank and drove far more than I like to admit. Don't do it.
