Buxom
The main reason I never used standard tuning was because I never could make my fat E sound right. It just always sounded off to me, so I tuned to the same pitch with my A and just went with it and tuned the other 5 strings in standard. I got the bright idea to start restringing with the fat E first and focusing on that and now it sounds better than ever. anyways, it's 3:40 AM and I just knocked Chasing The Night out of the park. Izzy
Today after I re-strung my guitar I realized I had switched two strings. No wonder it was sounding like poop all day! Isues with standard tuning, very odd indeed.
Buxom
I've always had issues, though. And yes, the string thing has happened to me. More than once...
Bender 4 Life
cool that you found what works for you !! some people have to use either a fatter or lighter low E(than what came in their string pack) to get the sound they like. my "problem string" is always the B, but I stick with it 'til it suits me.
