beverlyvista Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Anyone have a source for the number of Explorer 76-on reissues manufactured? I have a '78 V and I'm trying to check its rarity against the equivalent Explorers. Thanks!
Tim Plains Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Unless it's something like a limited edition, Gibson doesn't release production numbers.
Riffster Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Hard to get numbers on those, they are sought after but especially the ones from 76 and 77 after that I guess there were too many made to be really collectible or rare, then in 1982 Gibson reissued a true well reissue, the 100 production run was made with Korina like the originals in 1958, those do go for a lot of money. Flying Vs are more common since they where reissued since the late 60's, I think there are a few things like the padle headstock of the 70's that is considered as rare. I hope Morten gives us his take on this one, he's a big V fan...
