kaleb Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 My link I am happier than a pig in **** about this. Them carrying on as Thin Lizzy was (in my eyes) disrespectful to Phil Lynott (RIP) and it was merely a tribute band. Now they're onto something! But, Brian Downey (drums) and Darren Wharton (keys) are backing out, as Brian doesn't want to tour and Darren wants to do other projects. Not having Darren doesn't really phase me, as I never liked Lizzy with keys anyway, but Brian's one of my favorite drummers, so him backing out is kind of a lost. But they got Jimmy Degrasso (Alice Cooper, Megadeth, many more), so that makes up for it! It also means they're probably gonna be way heavier, too! They're recording an album under this name as we speak. I'm looking forward to it, to say the least.
FirstMeasure Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Cool! Anything with DeGrasso should be good. I look at this Thin Lizzy lineup a little different than you, though. I wouldn't call it disrespectful to Lynott, rather the opposite. But I'd say it was time to move on in order to keep it respectful. In that vein, I can't wait to hear what these guys are going to put out.
