Flight959 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Most folk I am sure maybe had a party or went to one on New Years Eve but I was staying with family and due to an unwell family member there was very little celebration. I decided on NYE to take a ten min walk down to the beach and take my last photos of 2012. This was infact was a bit of an experiment for me as I have no experience in taking photos with LONG exposures so it was very much trial and error... <_< I forgot to take a torch with me which made focusing very difficult so from that combined with the wrong aperture made for a photo that wasn't very sharp. When I took this photo it was almost pitch black. I dont have a remote timer so I had to stand like a lemon and hold the shutter open... for 113sec... The only source of light was a street lamp about 100 Meters away... Littlehampton Beach UK NYD by imagesliveon, on Flickr Regards Simon Flight959
jdgm Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 No squire that is very fine indeed! Love the sea effect, like an ECM album cover, got to try that sometime! What were the 2 white dots L of centre on the horizon - must be ships?
Flight959 Posted January 5, 2013 Author Posted January 5, 2013 I think they were fishing boats! Regards
Guest Farnsbarns Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Seems odd responding now after seeing this during our meeting with Alexi sayle but still, nice photo!
rocketman Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Wow that is amazing. I wish I had this type of talent. We do get beautiful sunsets from our cottage on Lake Erie though. Here's a picture I took.
Flight959 Posted January 5, 2013 Author Posted January 5, 2013 That's nice. You know you can turn the date/time stamp off.
rocketman Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 I'm not good with hardware. I know it's ironic that I'm an engineer, but if it doesn't have an equation then I'm clueless!
