Mr. Poon Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 This is my '82 Firebrand Deluxe that I've had since new. Totally stock. I had EMGs in it (58/H) from '85 until five years ago, when I reinstalled the originals. The velvet brick in the bridge really kicks butt.
Mr. Poon Posted January 7, 2013 Author Posted January 7, 2013 Thanks- it's what they called the bridge pickup.
Mr. Poon Posted January 8, 2013 Author Posted January 8, 2013 It really does. Such a comfortable guitar, I love to play her. The frets are worn down to basically nothing now, probably a refret in her future. She's my pride and joy.
dem00n Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 EMG's on that guitar is a sin. Nice photos, you got some skills. Great guitar!
Mr. Poon Posted January 8, 2013 Author Posted January 8, 2013 Thanks- The EMGs were okay, very rare models only available thru the custom shop now. Youthful indiscretion. Glad I held onto the originals. Thanks for the photo comments.
Mr. Poon Posted January 8, 2013 Author Posted January 8, 2013 The only real flaw is the nick (gouge) on the headstock- my brother accidentally knocked her off the stand into the corner of my desk, circa '86ish.
BigKahune Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 . Beautiful finish and graining. Great looking SG. . B) .
cjsinla Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Nice finish. I thought that all those firebrands had that oil-rubbed finish and looked dull.
jojo68 Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Super nice ! Didn't know the made firebrands with a gloss . Guess that's Where they got the deluxe . :)
