Lone Watie
Well, I took a drive down to Phoenix this morning to the only store in town that had a J-200. She's a standard, natural finish, and there was no doubt after I picked her up that she would be mine. I would like to have found a TV to compare against, but that has proven extremely difficult, but I have no regrets. I also picked up an inexpensive Epiphone hollow body electric for when I need a change. These were gifts from my wife for my birthday and Christmas. I swear I play better on this than I did on my Takamine. Just wanted to share with you all as you were a great help in figuring this all out. I don't have any pics taken yet, as just got home few minutes ago.
greatwhite_10
Congrats on your new J-200. I know that shop and played that guitar. Real fine player (thought it could have used a new set of strings but bellowed out even with the old set). It's no wonder you're playing better than on your Takamine (although a good Takamine is a good guitar, too).
merseybeat1963
Good luck I remember your post.. I wish there was a selection to choose from for you.. Hopefull God had the right one sitting right there. May it bring you much happiness.
Smurfbird
Congrats! I'm a huge fan of the J200 and the standard has proven my favorite Gibson. If you're light on cash in the future and decide you'd like a 00 guitar for contrast, try a Loar or a Recording King RNJ-17, the Nick Lucas lookalike. I'm enjoying these as beaters. Recommended by the board. Let us know what strings sound best. I'm using d'addario pb 16 Cheers!

I like what's on there for now, but will have to try different strings without a doubt.

I feel as if I've had a musical epiphany with this, not knowing what I've been missing all these years. My takamine got me through some times in my life, and was all I could afford when I bought her, but there's no comparison between the two.
