New plastic parts!

So a year ago I bought a Gibson Les Paul Studio in worn brown (with black bits and pieces). This is my go to guitar when it comes to feel and sound. But as we all know the worn colored studios are not sold for the aesthetics. I was really feeling the need to give it a bit of a visual vibe. So of I went to the music store and picked up cream replacement plastic.

So this is how it looked when I first got the guitar.

And this is how it looks today.

Much better, I've always preferred cream plastic to black.

It is more for myself, but I do use this guitar when I play on the worship team at church. This is something I started in the last year for two reasons.

1) to play in a group setting.

2) to play in front of people and face the fear of stage fright.

Izzy's right. It does make a difference. It's much more attractive with the cream accessories IMHO.

Nice job, Dave.

Dave,

That really does set the guitar off totally!! "I likes it!" [thumbup]

Looks like a fun guitar to hang over the shoulder to me.

That looks much better. On the subject of looks, Isn't it odd how a clean car drives better than a dirty one? If you're happier with the look, you WILL play better. Mental attitude goes a long way.

The new hard wear looks good on it. It blends with the pickguard. Good choice for a good looking Axe.

Congratulations... good work - big improvement.

It has made me want to get busy myself.

I have a gorgeous red 335 with black plastic parts - and a tempted to swap the p/u surrounds for cream, the knobs for amber and maybe lose the pickguard.....? Decisions. decisions....

If I got the same degree of aesthetic improvement you did, I would be well pleased.

Thank you all for the compliments, It turned out better then I had hoped. I will say that it was a inexpensive experiment. Total out lay about $60 (which included new strings), and I got to find out what it was like under the hood/bonnet so to speak.
