mkaye Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 i have a 1970 SG standard that i have had since new i cannot get the intonation to be correct (.010 gauge strings) - i don't have enough length in the bridge adjustment is there something i can do? mark
80LPC Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Presumably, you have been able to adjust the intonation correctly before ? Are you trying to adjust the intonation with old strings ? If your strings are new, are your pickups too close to the strings ? Check also for damage to the nut. Of course, if the action is too high you could possibly run out of adjustment also.
mkaye Posted December 7, 2008 Author Posted December 7, 2008 hard to say i've been playing my 335 for a while and just restrung the SG with .010 gauge strings (always had .090 before) mark
Tim Plains Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 Has anybody ever flipped the saddles? I've read that you can do it.
mkaye Posted December 7, 2008 Author Posted December 7, 2008 no, high e to g are forward, d to e are backwards (never been changed) i know i could reverse the 3 high strings, but that won't fix the lower strings mark
