wrench87
I just wanted some opinions, what could I expect to get for a 2007 gibson sg 61 reissue guitar of the week in black with gold in good to very good condition, and also on a gibson ga5 les paul jr amp reproduction amp in good condition?. I have them both on craigs list in rhode island guitar for 900.00 and amp for 300.00 but not one offer.
bigtim
Criagslist sales are tough, I try it all the time here in TN and I am near Nashville, alot of pickers around here. It involves local people and it is just passed christmas and people are broke. I would try ebay myself. It only cost about 45 bucks to ship a guitar UPS and cheaper by fedex. I have even shipped guitars to France through ebay purchases and have had positive experiences with it too. I think your right on with the price of the guitar and the amp seems to be about average price too. Good luck, Tim
stein
I wouldn't put too much stock in Craiglist these days. There are far more sellers than buyers these days, for everything. Economy is still down. Regardless of what it is, most folks these days are more into selling than buying. Point is, there are PLENTY of fairly priced things on Craiglist that aren't selling. Regarding the GOTW pricing, that's tough because there aren't enough of them to be able to determine an average price, or warrent it's own catagory in any price guide. On the one hand, it's just another USA model, and the closest "comparable" guitar would be a USA made SG. On the other hand, some are quite cool and specail, such as a SG standard with gold hardware stock. You can't really find stuff that cool unless you get into Custom Shop stuff. I kinda ran into the same thing recently...I have GOTW #14. (That's an LP in iced tea, P-90 (actually H-90) pups, and gold hardware. I bought it for 2k new, and at the time, they ran out and were actually selling for 2500 and 3000. Thinking I might be able to get 2k for it and thinking of selling, I looked into it and couldn't find any real reason or justification that I could get that much now. wrench87
It is a shame these were 2,000.00 guitars,I guess the econmy is down so no one is buying. What is the best way to box a guitar to ship? and what does insurance cost to do so.
