i have thought about the epi forum before but i have decided that i want to stay on the gibson forum because most of the people on the epi forum are probably people my age who dont know anything (no offense to people who arent, or people my age O:) ). i just figure that the is a higher amount of knowledgable (fail at spelling x[ ) people on the giibson forum. all the better for asking questions like what kind of tuners do you think are best for my LP?

You are right... most of them folks in the epi forum dont know anything at all... (aside from 2 or 3 that are card carrying gibson forum members).

So what exactly are you looking for? locking tuners or just fancy ones? I would go with sperzels but that's just me... mosy folks like grovers.

No offense Nikko but most of the "knowledge" you seek has been more a matter of opinion and personal taste. I can only speak for myself though when I say. Just because I own a Gibson, I'm not any more "knowledgable" than I was when I owned an Epi Les Paul.

I would think the players over at the Epi forum MIGHT know more about this particular question. From my perspective more people mod Epi's and Gibson's tend to be left stock or close to it for the most part.

Schaller and Grover probably make the finest tuning machines available. Mechanically superior (gearing), excellent plating. They are precision machines. Many people are fans of Kluson as well, for "vintage" style keys. If you want vintage style, the Gibson machines are often discounted nicely, and they are not bad (after all, enough of us have them on our LPs.
