cjsinla
I just bought my first 61 reissue. But there's nothing slim about the neck to me. It has the same width as my 59 LP Jr. The main difference is that the SG's neck is a little flatter on the back. It is fatter than my SG Classic and my Pete Townsend 50th anniversary model. This is what they mean by "slim taper?"
Jeff-7
"Slim taper" is meant to describe the profile of the neck, not the width. It's more of a flatter D shape than the baseball bat styles of other models.
cjsinla
Ok, so I guess it is as it should be. I was pleasantly surprised by how beefy it was, glad that it was not skinny like the late 60's SG I had in the 80's
