Just read this nice little tribute to Orbison on the Gibson "lifestyle" website, on the 20th anniversary of his death. In addition to the thoughtful write-up, there are a couple of pics of him with a red 335, which I had never seen before (he's usually holding a Gretsch in the pix I know). Anyway, it made me think of his many fine songs. One of my faves in "In Dreams."

That David Lynch flick, "Blue Velvet," did a few interesting send-ups of Orbison's tunes. One was "In Dreams" & the other was "Candy Colored Clown." I always loved the eerie dimension of his sound, and this movie explored his songs as almost a muse for the dark side.

Unless I've missed something (and that's quite possible), I believe you're talking about the same song -- the candy-colored clown is mentioned in the first line of "In Dreams."
