Thundergod
Right now I want one of those things with p90s... but I would preffer a BM red special...
Les Paul Fanatic
Singlecut, doublecut just has too much SG vibe to it, that or PRS vibe. Depending on how you want to look at it.
Tim Plains
Well, seeing as how I have four of them I'd have to say I prefer single cut Les Pauls. Nothing wrong with double cuts, I just never liked them.
RichCI
What I think would be really cool is a red Vintage Mahogany with P90s.

BIGBENDS
I've got two LP single cuts, but I've always liked the DC's as well. I hope Gibson makes more DC's like Solacematt's. I'd buy one!

Thundergod
LOL. I have a hard time taking anyone who calls themselves 'Zacky' serious. Especially in a metal band. I would take more seriously a guy calling himelf Zacky than a guy whose lastname suposedly is "vengeance" and dont forget this "sinister gates" character... I dont listen to that garbage... I just know because Guitar player (or was it guitar one?) made a huge rep on them (avenged sevenfold) and at the end of the year it got the "worst rep ever" award. Real metal players have names like "steve" or "adrian" or "john"... but you know they play metal before knowing their names... with those vengeance and sinister kids, you just know they are EMO trash before knowing their names. I gotta admit, that 'Synyster Gates' guy can play. Queer emo image aside, as players, those guys are pretty good. Not really a fan of them, but as players, gotta give credit where it's due. That's pretty sick right there.
Flight959
I like them both but if I had both of them in front of me I'd choose the LP any day..... Flight959
slimjimdom
Definitely single all the way. As someone else said, double cuts look too much like PRS's. Not that I don't like PRS guitars. I'd buy a PRS over a double cut Les Paul anyday, and a single cut LP over a PRS SC 1000%

However, just like any other music trend, now EVERY emo wanker and groupie are calling themselves "Mike Malice" or whatever. Synyster CAN play and knows his theory (I think he went to Berkeley or something for Jazz?) Their image, though, is unquestionably gay. It is in such complete excess that it definitely the new-school equivalent of the way 80s cock rock bands were dressing back in the day. It's pop metal, pure and simple. Love them or hate them, they are one of the only bands in the pop spotlight right now who can shred their asses off and they're bringing real guitar playing back with them. Finally I think we're starting to recover from the grunge era. :-)

I like that one, only the only thing is if they put an 81 in the bridge, and a 60 in the neck, more jazzy tone.

Same misogynistic (sp?) attitude as well. I remember when I heard that "Bat Country" song on the radio back in late '04 I think. Nothing on radio was like that at all. A7X and Atreyu I think coming into prominence the past few years is kind of bringing back more musicianship into music. However, don't sit and piss on grunge just because that POS Kurt couldn't play. You had players in that era like Mike McCready, Kim Thayil, Jerry Cantrell, Billy Corgan, and Peter Klett that could definatly play, and showed it often.
