Used at $4200 I think is high..no?

Maybe discounted to this price new with a lifetime warranty is right..but used?

The guitar is mahagony..

I got a nearly unused Huss & Dalton DS (Slope Dreadnaught) with Brazilian Back & Sides for $4500..from a dealer..delivered last summer.

Just curious as Id like a mah guitar someday & these look like my kind of guitars : )

I've seen them sell used on eBay for between 3-3500. That's high

Depends on the condition. The street price for the Gibson J-45 Legend 1942 is $6,200. Gibson 1942 J-45 Vintage Sunburst Acoustic Guitar

In great condition you will spend upwards of $4,500 for the guitar.

Some people will sell them for less if they are in a hurry to sell.

That guitar did not sell the previous time(s?) it was listed on eBay, ending most recently on Jan 4th. At

the same Buy It Now price, if that helps.

Very nice contempo J-45, though.

sdpate; you post too much! I mean really, get a life! [biggrin] Where've ya been? Welcome back!

Musician's Friend advertises the J-45 Legend for $7199 (!) now, and has a used one advertised for $5759. They will negotiate some on the price, but they are usually a pretty good bellwether of where prices are heading. Smaller, independent dealers may sell for lower if they've had their capital tied up in inventory for a time, but they won't be able to sell the replacement model they get, if they order one, for less. When I was looking for mine (about a year ago), Fuller's quoted me around $5500 for a new one. That was after they had offered to sell me one for $3K one or two years before, during the height of the financial crisis. I guess what I'm saying is that the Legends aren't getting any cheaper.

Better deals than the auction in question can be found, for sure. I did buy mine for quite a bit less (one of the rare cases when I've bought a guitar used), and feel very fortunate for having done so, but I would say at even above 4K used the Legend J-45 is worth it. If there is a better production-made acoustic guitar out there today you will have to show it to me.

I have a Gibson acoustic with a serial number 410216 and I can't find any info on it's worth.

Any help on this would be most appreciated.

Without photographs, we don't even know what it is, so how can we tell you what it's worth?

You've basically asked a question analogous to this: "I have a Cadillac car. I can't find any info on what it's worth."

That might be a 1966 serial number, but we can't even verify that without seeing pictures.

Mandolin Brothers had one for quite a while listed at $4250. It finally sold but I don't know for how much. That one on eBay has been there for at least two months.

Thanks everyone : )

The MSR is $9000 so at aprox 35-40% off thats $5500+new...echhs!... with warranty.

Its comparable is, I think, a Martin D18 Authentic, which is much less MSR.

Bad news for a person (like myself) who would rather have the Gibson. Maybe the Gibson is more Authenticly hand made?

New with warranty is one thing..but used, I would look to get one at $3k or $3300...but if one comes across a really great one its worth what ever..if I get a job by then : )

Having bought a nearly mint Adi/Brazilian Rosewood Slope Huss & Dalton for $4500 kind of sets a line.
