Medronio
I decided to buy a Les Paul Traditional Lefthand and have the opportunity to get a ebony or heritage cherry burst right now. Regarding the info on Gibson.com, the ebony is an "out of production" model and the heritage cherry burst a new model. Is that correct? I guess both are a bit older because here in europe they arrive once a year or so ;-) Are there any changes between These two models or will there be a Change for the 2013 traditional model so i should wait for it? Tim Plains
2013s have solid bodies. Previous years were weight relieved.
Medronio
Oh! So the new model will be even more heavier! Wow ... the old ebony was already heavy. Any other changes? Medronio
Just to clarify: How can i check if i hold a 2013 model in hand? By the Color? I ordered a New Honey Burst and it will arrive at my store by the end of february. Will it be a solidbody guitar?
Gary Moore Tribute
Weight wise a Traditional weight relieved is 9lbs 4-6oz. I would imagine these new models will be an extra 1lb The only other obvious change seems to be the flame tops, I own a 2009 with an increadible top, tho the Traditional's I've seen of late seem to lack this. Medronio
Ok, so if i compare my honey burst to a stock ebony traditional, the honeyburst should be heavier (more weight) if it is a solidbody guitar, in contrast to the ebony (which is definitely weight reliefed) right? I thought about it and the honey burst has to be solidbody because the Color was not an Option in the older series before 2013. Or is that wrong? Gary Moore Tribute
Honey Burst is one of the original 08-11 stable which included Desert, Iced Tea and and Faded (Cherry) Burst In 2012 they introduced a few new colours but stopped others they made Trans Black. Fireburst & a variety of solid colours. Edit: The "Caramel" is similar to the original Honey finish & the the "NEW" honey finish is the Faded "Cherry" Burst Confusing isn't it
Medronio
Ok ... so it can be a weight reliefed or a solidbody guitar ... damn! Would light burst be a new Color -> solidbody?
