SWD Posted February 3, 2013 Share Posted February 3, 2013 In my family, there are 4 grown brothers and my father who all played or play guitar. And in all my years I only remember one brother who ever took a guitar to a pro to have anything done. Can't even remember what he had done. I recently took my Gretsch Historic G3700 in for fret dressing-recrowning and a setup, including saddle shave. What an amazing difference it makes. My father never took a guitar anywhere and didn't even try to correct any problems....just played away and cursed his way thru. I hope to get it back within the next couple days. I'm sure it will be superb. He is meticulous in his work. When you want it done right...take it to a pro. It pays in the long run.
