FIRST TIME CHANGING STRINGS FOR LES PAUL STUDIO

Hello to everyone. I have a problem, and a question. I got a Les Paul Studio White Alpine, is my first time with Gibson guitars, and now Ia have to change the strings. I had read in the owner's manual that the guitar has come with 0.10 - 0.46 set. When I first played that guitar I liked it for the softness of the strings and of course is a good looking guitar, the setup, and the sound is amazing, for me.

In the owner's manual says that this guitar has been setup to have this 0.10-0.46 set of strings. So I have bought a GIBSON VINTAGE REISSUE PURE NICKEL WOUND STRING SET 10-46. But playing my new string set is harder and less softer than the set of strings that came with the guitar. Do I have to chance the setup of the guitar in order to play with this new vintage string set? I confess I'm not related with this new vintage set of strings, so CAn anyone give me more information about it?

Thanks a lot.

Cheers.

i don't think the material the strings are made of matters to much else but tone and as long as the guage is the same, setup might not be needed. stretch the strings so they break in. use a nut/saddle lubricant too. try top wrapping. good choice on strings, i like the pure nickel in any brand.
