Favorite Led Zeppelin Songs

Californiaman

Recommended Posts

I remember when LZ first came out and liked them a lot. I still like their music, but they were some of the worst plagiarist ever.

Yeah, because we would be so much better off without songs they stole like.....

Whole Lotta Love

Since I've Been Loving You

Dazed And Confused

Stairway To Heaven

Rock And Roll

In My Time Of Dying

Lemon Song

How Many More Times

Let's make it a forum rule that no Zep post can go without somebody bringing up plagarismmsp_blink.gif

<< the rain song >>

<< since I've been loving you >>

P.

absolutely these!

but my personal favorites among the lesser hyped tracks are "The Wanton Song" and "Sick Again" on Physical Graffiti.

And guys can we please have Zep thread without turning into that old plagiarism debacle again? Yes they did it. Yes everyone did it back then. And YES, they should've given credit where credit was due. That dead horse has been beaten so long there's not even any bones left, just soggy ground. It's done.

Many to choose from... [thumbup]

Apart from all the others mentioned...

'All my Love'

IMO a well-crafted and arranged work of art...with obvious input from JPJ(organ etc)

A moving song which can crystalize one's feelings of lost love etc to a 'T'

Hard to say. I'm a big fan of most.

Some of my favourites to play are Moby ****, Black dog, Whole lotta love and I think especially The Ocean. I still like playing Stairway to heaven once in a while. A buddy and I do a pretty good jam on that.

Love me some Zeppelin,I remember the days when there were actually signs in music stores that said "Please no Stairway to Heaven"that was a long time ago.

As for favorite Zep songs.

Since I been loving you.But I prefer the live cut from the DVD although I cant see any reason they left it off the CD live version.

Heardbreaker from Led Zep 2 I think.

Jimmy Page has always been my favorite guitar player,Sometimes a little sloppy but as for feeling the fence should have said "Page is God" (IMHO)

My favourite is "The Immigrant Song",from the first time that I heard it I was hooked on it.I always liked "Heartbreaker" and "Whole Lotta Love" also. There was one of their songs from the early 80s that I really liked although I never bought the album,I believe that it was called "In The Evening" .

curious 'that's the way' the lyrics about the boy next door. i think it was meant to be about a catholic and a protestant boy and not being able to be play together anymore because of that irish business.

i like the song and play it in open g but sometimes it comes off a little light on the zeppelin side and people don't get it.

yeah since i've been loving you ... but there's a break in the middle bit that sounds like it should have been edited out or something. reminds me of early black sabbath records where tony iommi goes on this tyrant of guitar noodling that isn't necessary to the recording at all.

I believe Achilies Last Stand is an epic Zeppelin arrangement. While I personally have never tried to play it, one that I do play quite a bit while warming up is Nobody's Fault.
