nobodeuno
Hey...just got a new J45 today and my fingers are sore...I'm stoked...what a great guitar. The last Gibson I had was a 1972 J-50 along time ago. Anyway I thought I'd hang out a bit and read up on some Gibson topics. Just wanted to say howdy. I believe this is a keeper! Honky Dog
Welcome. The J-45 is a great guitar. I have a rosewood, and love it. Some of my songs only sound right when played on my J-45RW. Congratulations on getting a really great guitar. Mahogany or rosewood.? Finish? Pictures are always welcomed. Encouraged, actually. :-) There are a lot of really nice people here that know a lot about guitars. Hope you can stay.

nobodeuno
Thank you....yes the 45's are fine guitars, especially when yo find a really good one. This one has a great top...a very, very tight silky grain... but does have some runout and even a bit of bearclaw too....So far I haven't been able to find a single weak note anywhere, its amazing. Gibson's got it going on! I went for the mahogany for two reasons..$$ and I plan on recording with this and I think it will come through a bit less sweeter than rosewood. I have a custom Martin dread in rosewood and I wanted a bit less shine on my next project. I will put up a picture !
