Riffster
I love this song by Metallica, great lyrics and completely experimental for their style, Hurdy-Gurdy and all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7R5E0yWU5M
Sgt.
You gotta have a little patience, but there is some great guitar playing in this one. Something a little harder B) Whatdya' got? Oh yeah I can dig a few classic rock gems ... When I was a boy I watched the wolves (Paul Kantner/Grace Slick; Sunfighter). The Strawbs: Lemon Pie. I always liked Bowie/Ronson and Viscoti on The Man Who Sold The World (album). April Wine's cover of Elton John's Bad Side of the Moon. Iron Butterfly Butterfly Bleu. Wow so many ... Deep Purple Shades of Deep Purple (album).
Sgt.
Deep Purple Shades of Deep Purple (album). yah I'm ashamed to admit it i've got Lady by The Little River Band. There's some that border on too mainstream/cheese ... how about Toto Hold The Line. Some really good songs are just outside of my comfort zone. Genesis The Lamb Lays Down On Broadway (the only Genesis song I like). Arlo Guthrie has some lmfao tunes like Alice's Restaurant and the movie to go with it. Comin' Into Los Angelese and The City of New Orleans ... that's one of the best covers I've ever heard, never get sick of that train story. The Guess Who (before and after Randy Bachman) has quite a respectable catalogue, not just a few good songs, many, many ... The Beach Boys, maybe I'm just not with the fans but Little Bird is a goodie. Ah, you got me goin' from A to Z ... Blood, Sweat, and Tears from Child is Father to the Man 'The Modern Adventures of Plato, Diogenes and Freud. Hey, Blinded By The Light is awsome, the Manfred Mann version, but Bruce Springsteen wrote that and Spirit in the Night, awsome ... there's a few I think go along with that, Foghat Slow Ride, Free All Right Now, Grand Funk We're An American Band, Edgar Winter Free Ride, James Gang Funk #49 and Steely Dan Reelin' in the Years ... Yes Roundabout!!! Keep em' comin' Hot Tuna Easy Now. Boston! CSNY Wooden Ships. Donovan Barabajagal. Humble Pie Stone Cold Fever!!!! This guitar solo (Peter Frampton) has got to be more awsome than Stairway, I said more awsome than Stairway to Heaven!!! Mountain For Yasgur's Farm!! There's a few to chew on! trvlr
Probably more obscure than well known, and reaching way back into my high school years ('75), but I always thought the lead guitar piece at the 1:37 mark into this song was one of the sweetest pieces of guitar work my ears ever ran across - still do. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wuMEaB1gBY

saturn
Some great song suggestions, thanks. Most I'd never heard before but really like them. Keep em' coming. Now Black Sabbath "Die Young" I was very familiar with since Heaven and Hell is one of my favorite albums. Great bass playing on that track and the entire album.
