reverend ripper
Hi guys...new member... I"ve got a 2005 LP Standard that has some "static" issues and I was wondering what you guys recommend as a fix. Basically I was hearing a kind of static scratchiness when I was sitting down playing. It only occured when I'd tilt the guitar away from me or move it.....tracked it down to the screws on the control and switch cavity plates on the back. Everytime I'd touch one or pull the guitar away and break contact it would make the noise. My buddy has a goldtop LP that does the same thing. Maybe a little shielding? Any advice? Thanks. Play it ampless lol I have never heard of static probs with control plates....could the humidity in your place be too dry? Perhaps a humidifier could help or spray the chair you are sitting in with static guard.....wish I could be of more help.
