I'd love an Explorer or a V but those Dean headstocks don't do anything for me.

I think I'd prefer to spend just that little bit more on a Gibson Flying V faded version.

I can imagine with those big headstocks there will be major neck dive?

Who's idea was that, anyway?

I think they're GD ugly but what matters is quality and bonding with the girls.

I played a Dean bass and it felt better than the Jackson that was more money.

The right player can make an ugly guitar look good!

I'd love an Explorer or a V, but woulkd prefer tto stay Gibson with either (won't buy a Les Paul style in non- Gibson or a Strat in non- Fender either). I'd probably buy one of the cool Dean Resonators if I could get past the (IMO) ill fitting head stock. (Just looked them up again, it's not a V, but sort of rounded swoopy thing that just doesn't match the style of guitar IMO. Though I did see one that was very squared and blocky, I have now have to reconsider and get one!).

I thought there would be a baby pic on here or a taco

Oh thanks, now I'm hungry [biggrin] . Mmmm, tacos...

What was that guy's name that did comedy routines with Jerry Lewis back in the day?

Kidding aside, I'd play one of those V's. I think they're cool.

Martin. You know, like the guitar... [tongue]

Knew that was gonna be Jacqueline. Gorgeous young lady, but every time I see her play, I worry that those boney skinny little arms are just going to break Lol...

Still sounds shite though. I'm sure all that playing very fast scales is tricky but when she slows down her timing is off, she miss frets and causes muddiness and the tone is boring and sterile the rest of the time.

They can sound good too. [thumbup]

OK, not my bag but at least it sounds right for what it is and I can hear some overtones and wood. That other clip sounded like a cheap computer model of a guitar.

As a Dime fan, of course I love it. I think the headstock shape is cool. And they come with DiMarzios!

They call them Chicago Standards because they are reissues of the original Chicago-built Deans.

Aren't all "origonal" Deans Chicago built?

As far as I am aware, if there is/was any controversy with the company, it's the fact they turned to importing and mis-representing the brand in this way. There is no change here.

I like Deans, or rather, I have a great deal of respect for the origonals. And, I also like the idea of these, the "reissues" made overseas.

But, calling them "Chicago Standard" to me seems wrong, and seems to me an attepmt to mis-lead more than anything.
