JimR56
You've come to the right place. We love to help with things like this. Please post some information about the guitar. Do you have a serial number? Photos would be the best way to give us a chance to identify what you have. You can attach photos from your computer, or you can upload them to a photo-sharing website and post links to them here. Without knowing more, I'll say this... if it IS a 1959 ES 335, you are a VERY fortunate uneducated Gibson guitar owner. :)
Smittyck
I'll get a pic up ASAP. I believe it does say 1959 on the label. I know it says ES335, and it has: S 97537. It is red. My grandfather could play the heck out of it, even in his final months...
j45nick
We need pictures to identify this. That S prefix FON does suggest 1959, but there would have been no specific date printed on a guitar built in this period. There should also be an orange label inside the upper F-hole. If that number is stamped on the back of the peghead, I believe this is more likely to be a 1963, althouhg there should not be an S prefix. Either way, it could be a quite valauble guitar, as ES 335's built between 1958 and 1964 are pretty much the most desirable of that model ever built. Tha actual value will be determined by the age and condition, particularly how original it is. Whatever you do, don't try to clean it, and don't let anyone work on it before we've identified what it actually is.

Smittyck
I've got 2 pics, one of the full guitar and one of the orange label. Not seeing a way to post them from my phone however. I'll try from my laptop later tonight...
