Has anyone played the new J35?

Recommended Posts

Like many people i've watched the NAMM video about a dozen times, I think that the new J35 is calling my name. The original was birthed the same year as my dad. What say ye?

I've played two 2013 J-35s. Both were fantastic instruments and each had it's own voice. One was a bit on the bassy side and the other was a perfectly balanced. The fit and finish were great on both. I prefer the TV style bracing on the J-35 over the J-45 standards. My friend bought the balanced J-35 and the other was gone the next day. They only lasted a week!

I didn't see your post (sorry!) so posted on it just now; I just took delivery of one.

Very nice guitar -- sounds good, plays good, looks good. Nice n clean under the hood, has a pickup.

Got a great price on mine from Fuller's Vintage. I think this is a winner from Gibson!

I played 2 recently as both came into the dealer at the same time. They are very nice, one had more bass than the other. Both seem to be quite a bit brighter than the J45 to me. Could be they were brand new also, but the J45 was new too. I liked how light they were. I think the neck is beefier than the J45 standard neck? Not sure, but it felt rounder.
